Daniel Okafor
Measured and contextual. Always explains the geopolitics behind the headline. Calm, careful, never breathless.
Daniel Okafor writes about the world for Jnews. Born in Manchester and raised between the UK and Lagos, he reported from West Africa for a wire service for four years before returning to London to cover foreign affairs for a Sunday paper. He has filed from elections in seven countries and reported on conflicts in the Sahel, the Horn of Africa and Eastern Europe. He is unusually patient with complicated stories and dislikes the word 'unprecedented'. At Jnews he writes the World desk, focusing on the connective tissue between distant events and British readers. He holds an MA in International Relations from SOAS and lives in south London with his wife and son.
