Pastrnak is leading the NHL in both goals and points since the start of 2025.

There are plenty of reasons for Bruins fans to be disappointed with the 2024-25 season.
David Pastrnak is not one of them.
Boston’s assistant captain has been hugely impactful since the start of 2025, and despite his slow start to the season, he remains on pace to eclipse 100 points for the third straight year.
Pastrnak struck first for the Bruins on Saturday evening, scoring a pretty goal on the breakaway and swiftly extending his career-long point streak to 17 games. He’s carried a large load for Boston’s offense, and since the start of the 2025 calendar year Pastrnak leads the NHL in goals and points.
Pastrnak totaled two points on Saturday, picking up an assist to go along with his lamp lighter.
Even with that effort though, Boston is firmly on the outside of the playoff bubble looking in. Saturday’s regulation win helped, but the Bruins are still two points away from the final Eastern Conference wildcard spot, and have fewer games remaining than the other teams in the playoff picture.
That said, Pastrnak isn’t ready to wallow in self-pity of the situation Boston finds itself in. He quickly dismissed the idea that the Bruins can exhale a little bit after snapping their losing streak.
“No, we’re going to go game by game. We finally got a win, [but] we’re going to have to regroup for tomorrow,” Pastrnak said. “We’re going to fight until the end. We’re not going to give up here, and we know we stand, and how tight the standing is.
“We definitely can outlast, and I think we have to embrace that and enjoy to have fun with these games; they’re meaningful every single one of them. I personally love that.”
The Bruins have a difficult path forward to position themselves for the playoffs. But Pastrnak continuing to fire on all cylinders certainly helps Boston’s hopes at reaching the Stanley Cup playoffs under improbable circumstances.
The Bruins will play the second half of their back-to-back on Sunday, taking on the Minnesota Wild at 3:30 p.m.
