Meetings sourcing and management platform provider Cvent this week
announced the top meetings destination and hotels in North America, Europe, the
Middle East Asia and, for the first time, Latin America and the Caribbean based
on search and sourcing activity tied to a record $16.5 billion in event volume
placed through the platform last year.
In North America, Orlando once again took the top spot for
meetings destinations, followed unsurprisingly by Las Vegas at No. 3. Chicago
jumped to third place from No. 6 last year, while Washington, D.C.—in the
election year—jumped from No. 18 to No. 8.
While Nashville came in No. 4 among meetings destinations,
the cities hotels were the big winners when it came to ranking meetings hotels in
North America. The city boasted four of the top 10 meetings hotels in the
country, with the Renaissance Nashville Hotel taking the top spot.
London again this year took the mantle as Europe’s No. 1
meetings destination. It is the third consecutive year that the UK capital has claimed top spot in the rankings. Indeed, the top
three cities remained consistent year over year, with Barcelona and Madrid
retaining second and third paces respectively.
Meanwhile, Amsterdam climbed two places from the 2024
rankings to secure fourth place, followed by Lisbon, Paris, Berlin and Rome. Two
new entries—Prague in ninth place and Dublin tenth, displaced the German cities
of Frankfurt and Munich.
Imperial Riding School in Vienna, which is part of
Marriott’s Autograph Collection, was named as the top meeting hotel in Europe.
Asia-Pacific, Middle East & Africa, Latin America
Singapore topped the list of Asian cities booked for
meetings via the Cvent platform in 2024, followed by Bangkok and Sydney. Dubai
was easily named the top meetings destination in the Middle East, followed by
Istanbul and Abu Dhabi. In Latin American and the Caribbean—the newest region to
get rankings—Mexico figured prominently in the top 10 destinations. Cancun/Riviera
Maya took the top spot, with Cabo San Lucas at No. 3, Playa Del Carmen at No. 4
and Punta Mita at No. 10.
The top hotel in each region was the Bangkok Marriott
Marquis Queen’s Park, the JW Marriott Marquis Hotel Dubai and the JW Marriott
Hotel Mexico City Polanco.
Criteria for hotels this year expanded to now included year
over year RFP growth for the property as well as RFP response time performance.
