The Stars hold a 3-2 series lead, but after whiffing on their first elimination attempt in a rough 4-0 loss on Thursday, they’ll need to shake off the frost and rediscover their Texas swagger.

Dallas Stars Goaltender Jake Oettinger is an absolute wall at home, he’s 5-1 with a 2.23 goals-against average and a .920 save percentage in Dallas this postseason. He also happens to be a post-loss machine, with a career 17-6 playoff record in games after a defeat.

Mikko Rantanen leads all playoff scorers with 19 points in 12 games, including four goals and three assists in this series, but could use some help. Jamie Benn, Evgenii Dadonov, Mason Marchment, and Matt Duchene have combined for just three goals total across the entire postseason. Jason Robertson, the team’s 35-goal man during the regular season, hasn’t scored since returning from injury five games ago.

Meanwhile, the Jets are 0-5 on the road this postseason and have lost nine straight road playoff games dating back to 2023. But if they can pull off a win tonight, they’ll head home for a Game 7 at Canada Life Centre, where they’re 6-1 this postseason and have shut out Dallas 4-0 in back-to-back games.

They’ll be playing with heavy hearts tonight. Center Mark Scheifele will be in the lineup following the passing of his father, Brad. He’s been one of the team’s top contributors with 10 points (4 goals, 6 assists) in 10 playoff games. Kyle Connor is Winnipeg’s go-to in elimination games, with 11 career points, more than any player in Jets/Thrashers franchise history.
