Has Bronny James been treated fairly during his rookie season?
That is a question that many people are asking and it’s a conversation that will continue.
Some people say that Bronny isn’t living up to the hype and others feel he is being held to a wildly unfair standard.
Speaking on his show, Gilbert Arenas stood up for Bronny and said that it’s not common for a rookie to face so much scrutiny.
He also added that Bronny is playing quite well, despite the headlines.
He claimed that if he was playing for 36 minutes per game, he’d be averaging 12 points, four rebounds, and four assists.
“He’d be top five for Rookie of the Year,” Arenas said.
“If [Bronny James] played 36mpg he’d average 12ppg, 4rpg & 4apg. He’d be Top 5 for Rookie of the Year!”

It is important to remember that James was selected as the 55th pick in the last draft.
Typically, someone at that point in the draft gets hardly any minutes and doesn’t produce much for his team.
This season, James is posting 1.4 points per game and is only achieving 0.4 rebounds and 0.4 assists on 25.8 percent from the field.
But even though he came toward the end of the draft, James is receiving a ton of attention because of his father.
A lot of people feel he is only with the Los Angeles Lakers because his dad pressured the front office to sign him.
There may be truth to that but there is also truth to the fact that Bronny has potential.
He might not always show it with the Lakers but he has had great G-League games that prove there is something special there.
Arenas and others think Bronny is a strong 55th pick.
He may not be one of the top rookies in the league but he has skill and, more importantly, a lot of room and time to grow.
