A woman is fighting for her life after a serious crash in Wiltshire in the early hours of this morning (Saturday, March 12).
Emergency services were called shortly after 1am following reports that a Ford Mondeo had collided with a wall on the A361 on Highworth Road in Swindon. The passenger, an 18-year-old woman, was taken to hospital by ambulance with life-threatening injuries.
An 18-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, aggravated taking of a vehicle without consent, driving a vehicle when over the alcohol limit and driving a vehicle when over the drug limit. He remains in custody at Gablecross Police Station.

The A361 remains closed between the Supermarine roundabout and Highworth roundabout. Officers say it is likely to remain shut for the majority of this morning while investigations are carried out.
Wiltshire Police are now appealing for any witnesses of the collision. They are keen to hear from anybody who may have seen the vehicle or have any dash cam footage that could help their ongoing investigation.
