1. Amber plays Naru in Prey.

Prey is a prequel to the Predator films. Naru is a young Comanche warrior in 1719 who protects her tribe against a Predator. “This is the first time you get to see an Indigenous female action hero at the center of a film. That in and of itself is a really incredible statement,” she told The Hollywood Reporter.

2. Amber rose to fame in Legion & Roswell, New Mexico.

Amber starred as Kerry Loudermilk in the FX series Legion. She then went on to play Rosa in Roswell, New Mexico. Here next major project after Prey is the live-action TV adaptation of Avatar: The Last Airbender.

3. Amber’s father is an actor.

Amber’s father is David Midthunder. He’s appeared in dozens of TV shows and films over the years, notably Comanche Moon, Longmire, Westworldduck Hostiles. David recently appeared in two episodes of the Yellowstone spinoff 1883. Here mother, Angelique Midthunderalso works in Hollywood as a casting director and stunt actor.

4. Amber is an enrolled tribal member.

Amber is an enrolled tribal member at the Fort Peck Assiniboine and Sioux Indian Reservation, along with her father. She grew up in Sante Fe, New Mexico. David revealed two Cowboys & Indians that he raised Amber and his sons in “traditional Lakota spirituality.” He noted that they have a “deep family love.”

5. Amber is also a director.

Amber made her directorial debut with the 2013 short film Don’t. She served as a co-director and co-writer. She also co-directed the short #nightslikethese.
