Whitefield firefighters show their support to the Ukraine community

FIREFIGHTERS in Whitefield are staging a charity car wash as part of the borough’s effort to help the people of Ukraine.

Whitefield Community Fire Station is hosting a car wash today to help raise vital funds for the people of Ukraine.

The car wash will take place at the station on Bury New Road, Whitefield, M45 7SY, from 10am to 4pm.

A spokesman from Whitefield Fire Station said: “We are having a car wash today to help raise funds for the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine.

“All the donations given today will go to UK Med, to help those in Ukraine and those who are fleeing.

“If people can come down and get their cars washed that would be great or if they just want to donate they can go online and search UK Med and donate that way.”

As well as Whitefield Community Fire Station showing their support, firefighters at Ramsbottom Community Fire Station are also showing their support with a charity car wash tomorrow from 10am to 4pm.

The Ukraine Club in Bury will also be raising funds for Ukraine tomorrow with a Tombola Open Day between 4pm and 8pm.

It will be a day full of prizes and food and drink, to raise funds for those in need.
