Washwood Heath roadworks planned on city road to last four days as new water meter installed

Motorists have been warned to expect delays as four days of roadworks begin today, March 25. Severn Trent are set to start installing a new water meter on Drews Lane in Washwood Heath which the firm says are likely to cause delays.

Temporary traffic lights are expected to last from March 25 at 6pm to March 29 at 6am. Severn Trent are already working on Leigh Road, Common Lane, Warren Road and Washwood Heath Road in a £ 400,000 water pipe improvement scheme. They are expected to be completed by the end of May.

A Severn Trent spokesperson told BirminghamLive: “We’m sorry for any disruption that’s been caused by essential work we’re carrying out on Drews Lane, to install a new water meter.

“We’re carrying out the work overnight, to minimize the impact as much as possible. To keep everyone safe, we’re putting temporary traffic lights in place while we’re working in the area.”

“We’re hoping to get the work done and return everything back to normal as quickly as possible.”
