Tragedy when cyclist dies after collision with car in Solihull
A cyclist has died after colliding with a car in Solihull.
The West Midlands Ambulance Service was called in for reports of a collision between a car and a pushbike on Friday Lane, on the stretch between Hampton Lane and the M42, in Barston, just after noon. 9.50 Wednesday (January 12).
Upon arrival, it turned out that the female cyclist had sustained very serious injuries, and despite the efforts of doctors, she died on the spot.

The driver of the Nissan Juke remained at the scene and is assisting police with their investigations.
Two ambulances, a paramedic, the West Midlands CARE Team and a Critical Care Car from the Air Ambulance Service were dispatched to the scene.
A spokeswoman for the West Midlands Ambulance Service said: “Upon arrival, the crew discovered a woman who was the cyclist she had sustained life-threatening injuries.
“Unfortunately, despite the best efforts of the ambulance staff on the spot, it became clear that nothing could be done to save her and she was confirmed dead on the spot.
“The driver of the car did not require assessment.”
Police are looking for witnesses and anyone who says the collision should contact them stating log 1080 of 12/1/22.
