Dozens of people offered to host the officers for a pick-up match after the department posted the call on social media. They eventually chose Brian Abruzi’s backyard pitch at Sunset Circle.

“I just think it’s a great outreach program for the local community,” Abruzi said. “I’m honored that they chose my skating rink and I’m just so happy that the kids can get out there and have fun.”
Abruzi said it is his fifth year to build the rink. He started working on it shortly after Thanksgiving.
