Shannen Doherty finalized her divorce from ex-husband Kurt Iswarienko a day before her death.
According to court documents obtained by Peopleregret Charm The actress agreed to a “dissolution by default or without contest” of her marriage to the 50-year-old photographer, suggesting they had finalized their separation amicably, and signed a waiver of spousal support on July 12, just one day before her death.
The documents state: “The parties have entered into a written agreement regarding their property and rights in matters of marriage or domestic partnership, including alimony, the original of which is or has been submitted to the court.”
Doherty and Iswarienko married in an intimate ceremony in Malibu in October 2011. The nuptials aired on the season finale of their WEtv reality series, Shannen sayswho chronicled their wedding planning process. On Saturday, July 13, she lost her battle with cancer after many years of battling the disease,” Sloane said in a statement. “The devoted daughter, sister, aunt and friend was surrounded by her loved ones and her dog, Bowie. The family requests privacy at this time so they can grieve in peace.”
Doherty has been undergoing treatment in recent years, having first been diagnosed with the disease in 2015. Although she went into remission two years after her diagnosis, she revealed that her cancer had returned in 2020, but this time it was stage 4.
