Sean McVay: Rams ‘working through’ Baker Mayfield’s status for ‘Thursday Night Football’ vs. Raiders

The Los Angeles Rams are “working through” Baker Mayfield’s status for “Thursday Night Football” against the Oakland Raiders, coach Sean McVay said.

Mayfield, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, was a limited participant in practice Tuesday due to a hip injury.

“He’s working through something,” McVay said. “We’ll see how he responds to treatment these next couple of days.”

McVay said the Rams are “hopeful” that Mayfield will be able to play Thursday.

Mayfield has started all four games for the Rams this season, completing 65.7 percent of his passes for 1,201 yards, eight touchdowns and four interceptions. He’s also been sacked 14 times.

The Rams are 3-1 and lead the NFC West. The Raiders are 1-3 and last in the AFC West.
