A car reportedly drove through a park frequented by families and walkers, injuring several people.
The incident took place in Hazelbank Park, near Shore Road, Newtownabbey in County Antrimwhen a red car allegedly drove up the grass verge and into the park, passing through an area where a number of families were picnicking.
A family member of a person who was at the park when the incident took place said: “My son-in-law was on the beach when he heard screams and saw the car coming down the bank. Shortly after, police and the ambulance arrived.”

The witness continued: “The vehicle was in the parking lot and appeared to be driving along the edge of the grass and then onto the bank. There are so many families out there today in the right weather report “It could have been terrible. I think there were a few people with minor injuries.”
Police, firefighters and paramedics were called to the scene and it is still unclear how many people were injured as a result of the incident.
