National Weather Service officials said scattered showers and thunderstorms are possible Saturday morning in portions of northeast Illinois and northwest Indiana, but sunny conditions were expected to break through for the rest of the day.

There was a 30% chance of thunderstorms late Saturday morning, then sunny conditions were expected to roll in, officials said. Widespread severe weather was not expected, though gusty winds and hail were a possibility.

Current conditions at Chicago’s airports are mostly cloudy at 80 degrees.
