Police officer attacked with axe
North Wales Police statement on police incident in Dwygyfylchi: “Shortly before 3.30pm this afternoon (Wednesday), officers attended a residential property in Dwygyfylchi for a routine policing operation. A police officer was subsequently assaulted by a man wielding an axe and sustained injuries to his hand.”
They said a police operation was then launched, involving armed officers. They added: “At 21:08 officers entered the property and a 57-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of wounding. We understand this operation has caused concern and disruption and we appreciate the patience and support of the local community as we resolve this incident.”
