Police appeal for information following attack on man by ‘unknown males’ in Salford

Police are appealing for information after a man was attacked by a group ‘unknown males’ in Salford. Officers were called to a report of an assault on Churchill Way, close to the Leisure Center at 5.56pm yesterday (March 24).

Officers attended the scene, and initial inquiries revealed that ‘unknown males’ assaulted another man. The attackers and the victim have not been located and inquiries are ongoing.

A large police cordon was spotted earlier today around the rear of Clarendon Leisure Center. Pictures showed a number of officers at the scene.

In a statement, a spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: “At 5.56pm yesterday (24 March 2022), police were called to a report of an assault on Churchill Way, Salford, close to the Leisure Center. Initial inquiries have established that unknown males have assaulted another male.

“Officers attended the scene. However, the offenders and victim have not been located. Inquiries are on-going.”
