Original article [Thu 18th Jul, 2024 02:30 BST]:
The Switch Joy-Con are fairly easy to charge, but they do require attaching to the console. With that in mind, Nintendo has announced a new Switch Joy-Con charging stand that makes it easy to charge these controllers without the console.
This new accessory will arrive in Japan on October 17, 2024 For 3,300 yen (around $21) and is available now at this location for pre-order via the My Nintendo Store.
The Joy-Con can be charged vertically or the stand can be removed, making it a controller. It is also possible to charge the Famicom wireless controllers, which are available exclusively in Japan and can be used with the Switch Online Famicom library.
Here’s a sneak peek at this new accessory, along with a translated description:
“You can easily charge the Joy-Con at any time without having to attach it to the Nintendo Switch console. This is recommended for those who have multiple Joy-Cons, such as when you want to charge the number of Joy-Cons so that everyone can play games such as the “Mario Party” or “Nintendo Switch Sports” series together, or when you want to charge the Joy-Cons you are not using while playing in handheld mode. It can also charge the “Family Computer Controller” for Nintendo Switch.”
