The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for Merseyside.
Tomorrow, Monday 15th July, from 8am to midnight, showers, at times heavy and thundery, will spread to North Wales, Merseyside and the South West of England. Torrential rain is likely in places, with 15-20mm of rainfall in less than an hour and up to 30-40mm in 3 hours.
This is likely to result in localised flooding, longer travel times and a small risk of flooding to homes and businesses. Some of the heavy rainfall may be accompanied by thunderstorms, which poses an additional risk.

Heavy rain will gradually ease after nightfall. There is a slight risk of power outages and loss of other services to some homes and businesses
The Met Office has urged people in the area to “check whether your property could be at risk of flooding. If so, consider preparing a flood plan and emergency flood kit.”
“Give yourself the best chance of avoiding delays by checking road conditions if you’re driving, or bus and train schedules, and changing your travel plans if necessary. People cope better with power outages when they’ve prepared for them in advance. It’s easy to do; consider packing flashlights and batteries, a mobile phone power bank, and other essentials.
