Met Office extends ice and snow warnings across much of UK

The Met Office has extended its ice and snow warnings across much of the UK, with up to 8cm of snow expected in some areas.

The warnings are in place from 1pm on Tuesday until 10am on Wednesday, covering parts of Scotland, England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

The Met Office is advising people to be aware of the risk of ice on roads and pavements, and to take extra care when travelling.

Up to 8cm of snow is expected to fall in parts of Scotland, while 2-5cm is likely in parts of England and Wales.
