The Patriots get a couple of defensive starters back from the reserve / COVID-19 list just in time for Sunday’s game against the Jaguars.
Linebackers Matthew Judon and Ja’Whaun Bentley have cleared the league’s COVID-19 records and will be activated for Sunday’s match, Boston Globe’s Jim McBride reported. Special teams Brandon King also cleared the protocols and will also be activated, McBride added.
Judon and Bentley were placed on the reserve / COVID-19 list on Monday, while King was added to that Tuesday. All three players did not train this week.
Tackle Yodny Cajuste, quarterback Brian Hoyer and linebacker Josh Uche were all also placed on the reserve / COVID-19 list recently. It is unknown at this time what he will do after leaving the post.
In addition to getting three players back from the reserve / COVID-19 list, the Patriots will also have linebacker Dont’a Hightower available for Sunday’s game, according to McBride. Hightower missed training on Friday due to a knee injury and is listed as doubtful for Sunday’s match.
