Detective Inspector Neil Dillon said: “This was a dangerous and reckless attack which had left the victim with two stab wounds to his leg. Thankfully he is now recovering but this could have been catastrophic for the victim. Such violence will never be tolerated in Merseyside. This incident took place at a time when the pub was busy on a Friday evening, and so there would have been people who had witnessed the incident and I appeal for them to contact us.

“I am also appealing for people to come forward if you recognize the male featured in the image. We believe he could hold information that could be vital to our continuing inquiries.”
