Lydiate Ash fire: multiple fire crews battling blaze at Kev’s Coaches depot – latest updates

More than 10 crews from across the West Midlands Fire and Rescue and Hereford and Worcestershire Fire Service continue to tackle a large blaze this morning. The fire is thought to be at the depot for Kev’s Cars & Coaches on Birmingham Road in the Lydiate Ash area of ‚Äč‚ÄčNorth Worcestershire.

More than 70 firefighters using hose-reels and multiple specialist equipment have been battling a blaze involving multiple vehicles since 10pm on Friday. Road closures have been put in place whilst emergency services including police respond to this major fire which is now ongoing into the early hours of Saturday (March 12).

Images shared on social media by West Midlands Fire and Rescue Service reveal a number of vehicles including several buses with Kev’s Coaches branding engulfed in flames. Most of the fire has been extinguished and some crews have returned to their stations whilst some crews remain on site to dampen down the fire.

Police remain on the scene. It is not known if any residents have had to be evacuated. Northfield Fire station tweeted at 12.16am: “Green Watch just returned from large fire at Lydiate Ash with @HWfire. “

The cause of the fire is not yet known.
