Japan Airlines next year will relocate its operations at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport to Terminal 8 and colocate with joint venture partner American Airlines, the carrier announced Wednesday.
The newly renovated Terminal 8 is expected to open soon, and JAL plans to transition there from Terminal 1 in May 2023.
The new colocation will provide “smoother, faster and more convenient” connections for travel to and from Tokyo and beyond on JAL, and throughout the United States and Central and South America on American, according to JAL.
Both JAL and American also are part of the Oneworld airline alliance. Oneworld members British Airways and Iberia also plan to relocate to Terminal 8.
