THE HBO The series’ second season continued on Sunday (July 14), catching viewers up with the show’s main characters after the fateful events of episode five.

Fans enjoyed seeing Prince Aemond’s (Ewan Mitchell) ascension to the throne, after his treacherous behavior in last week’s episodeand I also liked seeing Rhaenyra (Emma D’arcy) and her son Jacaerys (Harry Collett) concoct a plan in the process of the death of Rhaenys (Eve Best).

But the same couldn’t be said for the scenes involving Daemon (Matt Smith).

In recent episodes, Daemon has been separated from the rest of the main cast at Harrenhal, where he has been hallucinating a young Rhaenyra (played by a returning Milly Alcock) and, in a cast scene featured in the final episode, her mother Alyssa Targaryen (Emeline Lambert), with whom he was shown in bed.

But viewers find these scenes rather boring. One complained: “I’m sick of Daemon and his nightmares!” while another added: “I generally enjoy it The Dragon Housebut the monotonous scenes with Daemon and their terribly slow pace are getting really boring now. It’s like they don’t really know what to do with him this season.

Another urged Rhaenyra to “please, please get Daemon out of there,” adding, “I can’t do this anymore,” while another fan joked on X/Twitter, “Brother Daemon, do something. Spending the whole season in an airbnb and getting wasted isn’t going to help anyone.”

Another person said: “There better be a good explanation” for the scenes, because “otherwise they’ve wasted two episodes with Daemon taking mushrooms in a dilapidated castle,” while another wrote: “I don’t want to sit through another episode of Daemon wandering around Harrenhal.”

The series continues on HBO in the US on Sundays and on Sky Atlantic and NOW in the UK on Mondays.
