Fun First Teaser for Pixar’s ‘Inside Out 2’ Sequel – Time to Meet ‘Anxiety’

“Who made the console orange?” Things are getting messy. Disney + Pixar have revealed the first teaser trailer for the highly anticipated sequel Inside Out 2, arriving in theaters in the summer of 2024. This is the follow-up to the beloved 2015 Pixar movie Inside Out, which introduced us to Riley and her 5 emotions: Joy, Sadness, Fear, Disgust, and Anger. For this sequel, as she’s getting older, a few more emotions appear – namely Anxiety. According to director Kelsey Mann, the new character promises to stir things up within headquarters. “Anxiety, voiced by Maya Hawke, might be new to the crew, but she’s not really the type to take a back seat,” said Mann. “That makes a lot of sense if you think about it in terms of what goes on inside all our minds.” The voice cast also includes Amy Poehler returning as Joy, Phyllis Smith as Sadness, Lewis Black as Anger, Tony Hale as Fear, Liza Lapira as Disgust. This is a fun first look at one of the new emotions inside teenager Riley. So far so good, hoping this lives up to the brilliance of the original film.

The little voices inside Riley’s head know her inside and out—but next summer, everything changes. Pixar’s Inside Out 2 returns to the mind of newly minted teenager Riley as headquarters is undergoing a sudden demolition to make room for something entirely unexpected: new Emotions! Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear and Disgust, who’ve long been running a successful operation by all accounts, aren’t sure how to feel when Anxiety shows up. And it looks like she’s not alone. Pixar’s Inside Out 2 is directed by animation filmmaker Kelsey Mann, a storyboard artist making her feature directorial debut after working on the Party Central short and the “Monsters at Work” series. The screenplay is written by Meg LeFauve. Based on the original Inside Out (2015) by Pete Docter, Ronnie Del Carmen, Meg LeFauve, Josh Cooley. It’s produced by Mark Nielsen. Disney debuts Pixar’s Inside Out 2 in theaters everywhere starting June 14th, 2024 next summer.
