Etihad to Increase NYC Service, Names CFO

Etihad Airways effective April 24, 2023, will increase its nonstop service between New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport and Abu Dhabi to twice daily, the carrier announced Thursday.

Etihad currently operates 11 weekly flights between JFK and Abu Dhabi. Flights will be operated on Airbus A350 and Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft, according to Etihad.

Meanwhile, Etihad named former TAP Air Portugal executive Raffael Quintas CFO, effective immediately. Quintas has served as CFO of TAP and corporate treasurer of Brazilian airline Azul. He most recently was CFO of e-commerce company Infracommerce.

“Raffael is a widely respected senior finance executive who brings more than 20 years of international experience across the aviation and retail sectors to the role,” said Etihad CEO Antonoaldo Neves in a statement. Neves was named CEO in October, replacing Tony Douglas.

Quintas replaces former CFO Adam Boukadida, who has left the company after a nine-year stint, according to Etihad.
