Hybrid working with attendance in London and other locations as required
The Church of England is an extraordinary community of organizations seeking to make a difference across a diverse society.
The Church is committed to the care and protection of children, young people and vulnerable adults involved in Church activities, and safeguarding is at the heart of the life of the Church of England.
The National Safeguarding Team (NST) supports the dioceses, parishes, churches and worshiping communities on their journey to become safer places for all, and to promote good safeguarding practice as integral to the mission of the whole Church, and we are looking for a Director of Safeguarding to lead the team.
This is a role that faces many stakeholders, and needs a leader who can operate through influence and personal authority, with resilience and emotional intelligence. It calls for experience in senior leadership in a large and complex context, and a demonstrable track record in safeguarding, and in leading organizational change.
Whilst there is no requirement for candidates to be practicing Christians, sympathy with the work and mission of the Church is important.
Successful candidates will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.
