Right-back Diogo Dalot has refused to underestimate the challenge Everton will pose ahead of Manchester United’s trip to Goodison Park on Saturday lunchtime.
Everton, who secured a 1-1 draw at Old Trafford back in October, saw their relegation fears increased on Wednesday evening after losing 3-2 to Burnley at Turf Moor in a huge bottom-of-the-table clash. Despite leading 2-1 at half-time, Frank Lampard’s side saw the game turned on its head after the restart, courtesy of goals from Jay Rodriguez and Maxwel Cornet, meaning Burnley are now just a point behind them in the battle to avoid the drop .
The Toffees are now just one point above the relegation zone and are in great danger of dropping out of the Premier League for the very first time. They have won just one of their last seven matches, losing six.

But despite their lowly league position and lack of confidence, Dalot has played down the possibility of United, potentially, finding it easy to secure all three points, even though the Reds are struggling for form themselves.
“It’s always tough to go to Goodison Park,” Dalot told United Daily. “It’s always a tough atmosphere to play in, we know that.
“They are struggling a little bit, but they will have motivation, for sure, to play against us. So we need to expect everything and be ready for any kind of challenge.”
Asked if the Toffees’ lowly league position gives United confidence, Dalot added: “No, because they are fighting for their lives, so we need to be completely sharp and completely focused on what we need to do. But we need to expect that they will try everything to get points.
“But we will go there with the mentality of coming back home with three points, win, have a good performance and get onto the next game.”
