Oscar Winner Charlize Theron finally addressed the recent theatrical release of George Miller’s film, directed by Anya Taylor-Joy Angry prequel. In Mad Max: Fury Road, Theron originally played the older version of Imperator Furiosa.
During its theatrical run, the film failed to meet box office expectations. It only grossed over $170 million worldwide, against a reported budget of around $168 million. Despite this, the film remains certified fresh on Rotten Tomatoes, with a Tomatometer rating of 90%.
What Did Charlize Theron Say About Furiosa Prequel?
In a recent interview with The Hollywood ReporterTheron confirmed that she had already had the chance to watch Furiosa: A Mad Max SagaHowever, when asked if she and Taylor-Joy had been able to discuss the film, Theron admitted that they hadn’t really found the right time to meet.
“It’s amazing, it’s a beautiful movie,” Theron explained. “No, we really tried to connect. It’s one of those moments where we can actually make it a comedy. We’re constantly meeting up and in places where we don’t have time to really talk, so we’re constantly like, ‘Oh my God, okay, let’s meet up!’ And then life takes over. But it will happen when the time is right.”
Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga was directed by franchise creator George Miller from a screenplay he co-wrote with Nico Lathouris. The film also starred Chris Hemsworth, Tom Burke, Alyla Browne, Nathan Jones, Angus Sampson, Quaden Bayles, Daniel Webber and Lachy Hulme. It was produced by Miller and Doug Mitchell.
