Rachin Ravindra was the undisputed choice as the opening batter after finishing as the tournament’s highest run-scorer with 263 runs, including two match-winning centuries. His 112 against Bangladesh and a crucial 108 in the semi-final against South Africa showcased his ability to perform under pressure. Partnering him at the top was Afghanistan’s Ibrahim Zadran, who made history with a stunning 177 against England—the highest individual score in Champions Trophy history.
India’s Virat Kohli, a stalwart at No. 3, played a pivotal role in their title-winning run. The veteran batter amassed 218 runs at an average of 54.50, including an unbeaten century against Pakistan and a resilient 84 in the semi-final against Australia.
Champions Trophy 2025 Key Performers in the Middle Order and Field
Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul were crucial to India’s success, providing stability in the middle order. Iyer topped India’s run charts with 243 runs, while Rahul’s composed performances in high-pressure matches, including the semi-final and final, secured his position as the team’s wicketkeeper.
New Zealand’s Glenn Phillips shone with both bat and in the field, taking a breathtaking catch to dismiss Shubman Gill in the final. He also contributed a vital half-century against Pakistan and took two key wickets in the semi-final against South Africa.
Champions Trophy 2025 All-Round Strength and Deadly Bowling
Afghanistan’s Azmatullah Omarzai made his presence felt with 126 runs and seven wickets. New Zealand captain Mitchell Santner led by example, taking nine wickets, including crucial strikes in the final.
India’s Mohammed Shami impressed on his return from injury, claiming nine wickets. New Zealand’s Matt Henry topped the tournament’s wicket charts with 10 dismissals, while India’s mystery spinner Varun Chakravarthy claimed nine wickets in just three matches.
