Mega Man has received numerous collections in recent years, but there has not been a new main entry in the series since the release of Mega Man 11 in 2018. It seems there’s no need to worry, however, as Capcom has once again reassured fans that this classic series is still a big part of its plans for the future.
During his 45th General Meeting of ShareholdersCapcom has mentioned that Mega Man is still one of the company’s “most beloved IPs” and that it is “still thinking about how to make games for it on an ongoing basis” (thanks, Rockman Corner).
Another question concerned the results of Capcom Super’s recent electionsacknowledging Mega Man’s popularity in the poll, and asking if it would have any influence on the future of the franchise. Capcom again stressed how it values ”all” of its IPs, including Mega Man, and is always thinking about how to use them in both games and media.
So don’t worry about Capcom not doing anything. new with Mega Man lately, as the blue bomber is still being considered for future releases. These comments come on the heels of Mega Man’s Game Boy library added to the Switch Online service in June.
