BREAKING NEWS: Grass fire in Arvada, evacuations underway

ARVADA, Colo. (KDVR) – The Arvada Police Department says a grass fire is forcing house-to-house evacuations.

The fire was reported in the area of ​​86th Ave. and Fenton St. on Friday around 12 pm

APD said Evacuations are being conducted from 84th Ave. north to 86th Ave. And then from Sheridan west to Gray Ct. The fire is moving east toward Sheridan. Evacuees can wait in the parking lot on the Northwest corner of 88th and Sheridan, police said.

It is unclear at this time how many homes are being evacuated.

APD said to use Wadsworth to travel north from 80th Ave. and use 80th Ave. to travel east or west.
