Bolt has purchased Danish ride-hailing company Viggo in its “first-ever acquisition,” the ride-hailing and mobility platform announced. The company did not disclose terms of the deal.
“The acquisition will see Bolt’s ride-hailing operation enter Denmark for the first time and add to its existing e-bike rental service in Copenhagen,” according to Bolt. Viggo, founded in 2019, operates a fleet of more than 300 electric vehicles.
In addition, Bolt has partnered with Danish taxi company Taxi 4×27, which will add its fleet of more than 600 vehicles to the Bolt platform.
Further, Bolt announced it has added a flight tracking feature. When scheduling a ride from an airport, customers who link a flight will have their pickup time automatically adjusted if it is delayed, at no additional charge, according to Bolt. If a flight is canceled, the platform also will cancel the ride for free.
Customers can link their flights in the app under “schedule,” select an airport for the pick-up location, tap “add flight details,” enter the flight number or search by airline or city, then set the pick-up time and confirm the ride, according to Bolt.
Based in Estonia, Bolt serves more than 50 countries throughout Europe, Africa and Asia.
