“BioShock 4” Screenshot Seemingly Leaks

2K Games

A new “BioShock” game was announced in 2019 and since then there has been no official news on its progress.

Regular publisher 2K Games hired Cloud Chamber, a newly formed developer (featuring several franchise veterans) brought together to create this game specifically, and things have been pretty quiet since.

The only rumors so far date back to 2021, suggesting that the game’s fictional city resides in 1960s Antarctica — the same decade as the first two games’ failed scientific utopia, Rapture, and decades after the corrupt, 1910s theocratic sky city of Columbia seen in “Bioshock: Infinite.”

This week, an alleged screenshot of the game emerged via gaming site MP1ST who claims it comes from a 2K visual effects artist. The photo is said to be from a “demo featured in a 2021 reel.”

There’s also a textual reference in the video to “Parkside” – the long-rumored codename for the in-development game. The shot shows a retro-futuristic tower with a miniature sun on top while plasmid icons hint at magnetic, electrical and even possible weather manipulation powers this time around,

This leak follows last week’s news that Cloud Chamber is “hiring like crazy” to continue development on the game. Together, they have inspired hope for the game that many feared would be canceled.

Franchise creator Ken Levine disbanded original developer Irrational Games years ago and went elsewhere to create the upcoming “Judas” game which has already had trailers.
