A BioShock 4 reveal could be on the horizon after a gameplay screenshot was shared online by MP1st.
The screenshot follows a series of job postings at 2K Cloud Chamber as production ramps up on the upcoming BioSock game.
In the screenshot, several plasmid abilities are shown, including several that reference the ability to play with time.
It seems increasingly likely that a BioShock 4 revelation could be on the horizon. Last week, A game designer at 2K Cloud Chamber, the studio developing the next BioShock title, has shared a series of job listings as production ramps up. Now, a screenshot of the game has been shared, showcasing the game’s UI, along with potential time control abilities have been shared online.
As first discovered by MP1stThe screenshot is likely in-engine and offers a good look at what the game will look like. According to the website, the screenshot comes from a 2K visual effects artist, though no further details were provided due to privacy concerns. That said, what is shown is consistent with previous information from BioShock 4, as well as the general aesthetic of previous BioShock games.

BioShock 4 Could Let Players Control Time
For starters, the screenshot refers to “Parkside,” which is rumored to be the codename for BioShock 4’s title. This codename has been reported in the past by multiple outlets, notably by Jason Schreier and Colin Moriarty, respectivelyThis helps give it more credibility.

Elsewhere, it appears that at least four Plasmid abilities will be part of the gameplay. In the top left corner, there is an hourglass, which could suggest some sort of time-control ability. In the bottom left corner, three additional Plasmid abilities are shown. The first of these is a stopwatch symbol, which means that time will play a role in the game.
The other two symbols depicted are a magnet and a lightning bolt. It’s safe to assume that the lightning bolt will be an electricity-based ability, which was central to BioShock. Meanwhile, the magnet could be tied to something related to telekinesis, though that’s less clear.
Regardless of the main character, they carry a “Ricochet Shotgun,” which looks suspiciously like BioShock 2’s Rivet Gun. It also features three weapon slots and the “Y” button. This “Y” button can be used to switch weapons, and while all three slots are identical, this could mean that players will only have access to three weapons at a time.
What’s less clear is the game’s setting. The player-controlled character faces what looks like a lighthouse, a central motif throughout BioShock. It’s also dark and cloudy outside, making it difficult to pinpoint exactly where the game will take place. That said, the presence of a lighthouse alone is enough to suggest that whatever BioShock 4’s future holds, it will at least pick up on established plot threads.
Given that the game was announced in 2019It’s nice to see that it’s still in development. Maybe it won’t be long before we can get our hands on it too.
